Spring HVAC Checklist
Regardless of how clean you think your home is, there will always be a way to keep it cleaner. Spring is here, and we’re all ready for it. Now is the time to take your home health into account, and think about what steps you need to take to have a clean and healthy year. There are numerous things that you should have on your spring cleaning checklist and we trust that you’ve already compiled a good one! Here are some new additions to ours this year, that can lead towards a cleaner and fresher space.
1. Caulking around your windows and doors. This can mean all the difference this summer by keeping your cool air inside, and the heat and humidity out! Doing this annually will help you in the hot and cold season, which saves you money on utility bills year round!
2. Remove and clean your bathroom exhaust fans. The ventilation in your bathroom is a great way to keep your bathroom dry and mold free, but it’s only effective if the fan is also clear! This will get rid of dust and debris build up, allowing proper airflow in your bathroom!
3. Clear any blockages in your dryer vents. Make sure that you clear any potential lint pileups in your dryer, as this will make it run less efficient and require more energy. Clean out the oven/range. This is the time to scrub out your oven, and make sure it’s running as efficiently as possible. The heat outside will be unforgiving on your A/C when it’s also trying to manage the heat inside!
4. Take down your curtains and wash them. Dust, pet hair and debris builds up surrounding your curtains, and will add to clogging your HVAC systems filters.
Spring in Minnesota only last for the blink of an eye sometimes. Before we know it, it’ll be humid and sticky out, so it’s time to get our homes in line! As always, we suggest having a professional out to inspect your HVAC unit. That’s the best way to ensure that all your systems are running as efficiently as possible, keeping your home comfortable all year long. Summer will be here before we know it, and spring is right around the corner. What things are on your spring cleaning list, that we’ve forgotten?
